Christian Leperino
Christian Leperino is a Neapolitan artist, born in 1979, born in the quarter of Ponticelli, in the eastern periphery and heart of the industrial area of Naples.
After a debut in Graffiti Art, the Neapolitan artist has crossed all the pictorial techniques and the new frontiers of art: paintings, videos, sculptures, photos. In his artistic path, after a research upon the human body, he focused his attention to the representation of the metropolis, examining the relationship between the space of the city and the existences of its inhabitants.
The theme of urban landscape intertwines with a reflection upon time and memories related to the places. This theme recurs in his production of the last years, as we can see in the works presented to his most recent exhibitions: Cityscape/12, at 54th International Art Exhibition Venice Biennale, Italian Pavilion, Tese di San Cristoforo, 2011; Human Escape, at MAC-Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, 2010; Cityscape, within the exhibition Sistema Binario, at the railway station of Mergellina, Naples, 2008 (the work, displayed inside a big lunette in the atrium, then turned into a permanent installation).
Fonderia Nolana has collaborated with Christian Leperino for the staging of his exhibition at PAN Museum of Naples and for the Hotel Romeo, as well as for the realisation of two installations displayed at Hotel Romeo in Naples: “Keires 2012” (an installation realised with the technique of lost-wax casting) and “Skyline” (bas-relief in aluminium positioned in the Sky Bar Beluga).
