Still Life e John’s Fireplace by Ugo Rondinone
“Still life” is a project by Ugo Rondinone presented in several contemporary art exhibitions. The works displayed were realised in bronze with the lost-wax casting system and then filled with lead, exponentially changing the weight of the objects. The final colouring of bronze, then, gave a hyper-realistic effect to the objects, capable of deceiving the eye of the spectator.
“John’s Fireplace” is a work by Ugo Rondinone representing in a very realistic way the fireplace of the house of the famous American poet John Giorno. The casting was made directly on the original fireplace in the house of the artist and then transported to Italy, where the work was realised in bronze with the lost-wax casting technique thanks to the collaboration of Fonderia Nolana.
